You are welcome. No matter what.

Building an inclusive culture rooted in the community helps everyone. Diversity is about representation or the make-up of an entity. Inclusion is about how well the contributions, presence, and perspectives of different groups of people are valued and integrated into an environment.

Here at the Pennsylvania Playhouse, we rely on the community to do what we do. Each year we run six shows, three plays, and three musicals. We welcome anyone into our family regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identification, age, socio-economic status, national origin, sexual orientation, or ability.

WHY WE DISPLAY THE PROGRESSIVE PRIDE FLAG AT THE PLAYHOUSE.

The Progressive Pride flag was developed in 2018 by non-binary American artist and designer Daniel Quasar. The flag’s design celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community and calls for a more inclusive society. The pride flag design seeks to increase the representation of discriminated minority identities within the community. An arrow points to the right on the flag to show forward movement and illustrates that progress toward inclusivity still needs to be made. The inclusivity of the flag is not just for the LGBTQIA+ community, but it is also for the BIPOC community as well. This is genuinely a flag for everyone.

Here at the Pennsylvania Playhouse, we believe everyone should be welcomed regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identification, age, socio-economic status, national origin, sexual orientation, or ableism.
