by Anthony Marriot and Alistair Foot
Performance dates February 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 2018
This farce surrounds an assistant bank manager, Peter Hunter, who lives in a flat above his bank with his new bride Frances. When Frances innocently sends a mail order for some Scandinavian glassware, what comes back is Scandinavian pornography. The two, along with the bank's frantic chief cashier Brian Runnicles, must decide what to do with the veritable floods of pornography, photographs, books, films and eventually girls that threaten to engulf the happy couple. The matter is considerably complicated by the presence of Eleanor (Peter's mother), Mr. Bromhead (his boss), Mr. Needham (a visiting bank inspector) and Vernon Paul (a police superintendent).
Crazy for You
Book by Ken Ludwig, Guy Bolton and John McGowan
Music and Lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin
Performance dates July 27, 28 and August 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 2018
a classic tale of a boy, a girl, and a theater in need of salvation. Stage-struck Bobby Child works as a banker for his overbearing mother, Lottie, but spends his off hours practicing dance routines and sneaking into audition for Zangler’s Follies, the most popular show in New York City, helmed by Bela Zangler, a temperamental Hungarian producer. Unfortunately, Bobby’s showbiz career is going nowhere, and his strident fiancé is insisting he name the date. When Lottie demands that he investigate a far-away customer who has defaulted on a mortgage, Bobby jumps at the chance to get out of town. Arriving in Deadrock, Nevada, Bobby falls for Polly Baker, the sweet and sturdy postmistress, whose father happens to own the beautiful, but decaying, Gaiety Theater, which he has been sent to seize. Lovestruck, Bobby comes up with a plan: call in his friends, the Follies Girls, all the way from New York City, cast the locals - a bunch of rundown cowboys with latent musical talent - and put on a show to save the old building. A fast-paced and light-hearted script with a collection of the most beloved tunes of George and Ira Gershwin, Crazy For You is a delightful homage to those beloved, optimistic musicals of the 1930s.
NOTE: a choreographer must be in place and the choreographer's name included in your application when submitting to direct "crazy for you"
